Christchurch Interclub 21st November 2010 What looked like a wet morning soon turned into a great day and some very close racing was to be had. It was fantastic to see the Lindsay boys, Thomas and Harry turn out. Thomas was of to a bad start with going over the gate in practice but with some encouragement from Corrina he was back up and going hard for a good day (I think mum said the blonde hair was the trick).
Carlos Hardy Lloves had a blinder and cleaned out for the day. Issac Pulley make hard work of it and picked up a hand full of 2nd places. Matt Snelling and Ollie Tabak both took the battle to the front with Matt 4 wins and Olly 1 win but what a great effort from both.
Michael Clarke was up in the 16+ so he had a battle on his hands but was not outclassed with some top 3 placing's.
New member Josh Taylor put up a fine battle but will need some more leg speed to pick up the pack. Jared Trenberth was double classing so started with a roar but the tank was getting low by the last race.
Wayne Pulley was holding up the top end for the older riders. He had his sights on 1st but only got to 2nd and 3rds. He said next weekend at Rangiora will be the target.
March 30 2010 Nearly done for 2010! The Club has pretty much wrapped up its season and we’ve run our last Interclub a week or so ago. Great to see some different looking BMX bikes in the form of a heavy-weight mountain bike. Yaaaaaa — something different to give the old timers something to whine about.
A core team are heading to the Nats’ in Auckland — good luck you hard core — fly the Rangiora Flag.
After that, its pretty much good night BMX — we’ll wake up after a Winter hibernation and do it all again in September.
From the engine-room of the Rangiora BMX Website, its farewell from Weasel. After some seasonal spiel, a few wordy words, some political machinations and endless hours of tweaking stuff for your digestion, its time to hang up the keyboard. The next blurb will be bought to you by one of the newbie hard working committee members. Good luck team and give it heaps.
Later, faithful readers. We’ll see you back here soon for another dose of BMX mayhem, drama and anything else that makes this sport tick. |
